Week 35 done and three have become two, following Everton's shock defeat of the Seagulls. Don't worry @DwizzleyMatthews, we're all reeling in shock as well, except perhaps @Slacker77, who knew his Toffees would get the win. So onto Week 36. Just three weeks to go. I'll go for Manchester United this week. Calling on @Slacker77 to make a selection.

Aston Villa v Tottenham
Chelsea v Nottm Forest
Crystal Palace v Bournemouth
Manchester United v Wolves

Week 36 selections are in, with just two members left going head to head. The first game will be on Saturday afternoon UK time, with the other fixture in the distant future, i.e. next Thursday. Will finally we see a last person standing this week? @Marble-eye still leads the way in the overall standings, but @Slacker77 will draw level at the top of the pops if the Toon manage to knock off the Seagulls.

Manchester United v Wolves @BigHewer
Newcastle v Brighton  @Slacker77

May the best person win!

Likewise Slacker gl to you too.
This week is a win win. If you take out the LPS , the Toon are all but in the Champions League next season and Red Devils may miss out altogether. Bring on the weekend!

Week 36 done and dusted, and now a very short turnaround to Week 37. Both players made it through from Week 36 and it's getting very tight at the top of the leaderboard, with @Marble-eye and @Slacker77 both on 46 points (though ME has the edge on goal difference). Can @Slacker77 take the sole lead this week? Week 37 fixtures below, with the first game kicking off Saturday afternoon UK time. I'll go for Fulham. Over to you, Slacker :)

(NB if your team is playing twice, please specify which fixture)

Sat
Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford
AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United*
Fulham v Crystal Palace
Liverpool v Aston Villa
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton
Nottingham Forest v Arsenal

Sun
West Ham United v Leeds United
Brighton & Hove Albion* v Southampton
Manchester City* v Chelsea*

Mon
Newcastle United v Leicester City

Wed
Brighton & Hove Albion* v Manchester City*

Thu
Manchester United* v Chelsea*

Seventh consecutive week and the longest running LPS game I can recall.

Is there a conspiracy to prevent me from playing my two remaining 'ace' picks in Bournemouth and Nottingham Forrest 🙄

Well well well... Week 37 all wrapped up and congratulations to @Slacker77 🥳 🎉 🍻 , who has clinched a second LPS bonus of the season, as well as the overall lead after the Irons knocked off Leeds United.

So now we're down to the final game week, with most of us playing for pride. We'll also be able to answer a few burning questions  we've been wondering about, such as:

What will the final points tallies be?

Who's going to win the battle for 3rd spot?

Which team does @Faz fancy more, Forest or Bournemouth?

Week 38 fixtures below (all kick-offs Sunday afternoon UK time). I'll go for Everton this week. Calling on @Chaimai, @spicy_girl, @DwizzleyMatthews, @Marble-eye, @Faz and @Slacker77 to make selections.

Arsenal v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Aston Villa v Brighton
Brentford v Manchester City
Chelsea v Newcastle United
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest
Everton v Bournemouth
Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur
Leicester City v West Ham United
Manchester United v Fulham
Southampton v Liverpool

Well done to Slacker, a very worthy winner, last years trophy is on its way to Rayong as we speak. I think @Faz deserves a very special mention too for reaching double figures.

My final pick of this very enjoyable competition will have to  be Leeds, if they can beat Spurs they may have a chance of staying up. And..........

Wow what a thriller it will be regarding the relegation places, with 3 teams fighting for the 17th place and all 3 have home matches

I will put at least 10 bottles in the fridge on friday,

C'mon toffees 😁

What a thriller is right. Toffees must win I think because a draw won’t be enough if Leicester win.

Whatever happens, 2 good teams have to join the Saints in the championship.

When was the last time all three promoted teams stayed up? Crazy season.

Week 38 of LPS done and dusted and after a few tweaks, we have our final standings for 2022/23 season.

Congratulations to @Slacker77, who takes first spot 🥳 ⚽ A  few anxious moments as the season unfolded, but in the end a comfortable win.

Some interesting tidbits at first glance from our season:

- Arsenal are the only team to win every time they were selected. The reliable Gunners?
- Manchester City earned the most LPS points with 35, with Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham rounding out the Top 4.
- Crystal Palace had a good season in the Premier League, but they were rubbish in LPS, earning just 2 points all season (for @Marble-eye).
- @Marble-eye and @spicy_girl were the only players to get points from all three relegated teams.
- @Slacker77 made 8 correct selections in a row at the end of the season.

Thank you to all players for taking part. We'll be back again in three months' time for Season 23/24 ⚽
