News Forum - Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
While that is certainly true for many DTA agreements, it is not so true for the UK/Thailand DTA, which is a Masterpiece of mealy mouthed, diplomatic speak bull Sxxt. It effectively gives little to no protection for UK citizens living here, so beware anyone who believes that the DTA is solid. Read this carefully. It says, in clear terms, that the onus is clearly on the individual to prove to the Thais that the DTA applies to you. I believe that it travelled through Thailand and down the natural path (where all the waters go) towards Bangkok, and then when it got close to the ocean it was slowed like an ocean wave when arriving close to shore. There was much spreading of the forces all over Thailand, but me thinks that it flowed down towards Bangkok much more than the other places and then was slowed. -

I hear you grumpy but I disagree in principle - no problem with others donating, but I will not. Unlike when that tsunami hit Thailand and Sri Lanka, and I did donate - quite a bit. But many years ago the Nth Korean dictatorship was on the verge of collapse - people were dying of starvation and there were riots starting. Then arose a drive to send them food and many people donated money to red cross etc. I said no we should not do that because the People of Nth Korea would be better off if we sent them guns - then they could overthrow the Junta dictatorship. I was right. Same same for Myanmar - send them more guns - not food and money - the Junta and the powerful rich will take most of it anyway - that is how they are - far worse than Thailand - totally corrupt. -

Troll - having 'fun' abusing and arguing with others in an idiotic manner. Or as defined in a Google search "make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them." IMO it is best to block such a person - life is too short (and getting shorter).
