Time to build a house!

I just watched your latest video Greg. It's very good.
I'm waiting for our esteemed concrete specialist's comments on the quality of the concrete and how it's being poured. I'm biting my nails in anticipation.

Being in concrete for 20 years I am a little set in my ways but without a shadow of a doubt those posts are as strong as my socks.

In life there are professionally qualified tradesman in every field. Home builders, plumbers, electricians, etc.

How long ago did you build your house in Thailand?
Did you use professionally qualified tradesman - I take it you checked their certificates first?
Have you got an electrician you could recommend for a friend who had some problems with his installation?

It's fine. My background is Structural Engineering and Architectural Design (bachelor's degree in both disciplines) and I have a fair amount of design and construction experience. You should feel confident in the work your crew is doing. I've seen nothing glaringly out of whack. Each culture has their own methods which work for them. Best of luck in this New Year.

I think Mr. Tuk Tuk was exhibiting this "face saving" behavior Thai people are supposedly famous for. IDK what his deal is or was, it appears he has a major chip on his shoulder. If anyone has any qualms about the workmanship Thais are capable of just have a look around Bangkok.

Or....even more so throughout rural areas.

Started out strong, ended with a whimper....damn!

I see the spec for your DJI Mini 2 lists a few "Max Transmission Distance (unobstructed, free of interference)":
10 km (FCC)
6 km (CE)
6 km (SRRC)
6 km (MIC)

I don't know why the FCC distance should be further than the other standards, but you've said it's only 2km to the new house anyway.
I wonder what's causing the problem?
Are there any transmission towers nearby - either high voltage (132Kv) grid, mobile phone towers or something else causing potential interference or masking the signal?
The nearest airport to you is Sakon Nakhon Airport (52 miles), so that's not an issue.

We're rootin' for you, Greg...

My wife has an Aunt and her British partner just down the street from us. It was actually below the drone when it had to turn back. I will fly from his house over to the job site. That should be easy!

Actually- there are, about 2.5 Km away in downtown Seka. A big tower.

OK.
As Faraday suggested, is it worth flying your drone away from any potential problems to prove one way or the other that it should fly up to 6km away?
