Which is why a two state solution, no matter how distasteful for each side, is the only workable plan. Neither side will be happy, but the only other solution is to let the two sides duke it out winner take all. Of course, as we currently see that’s not acceptable to the world in general.

I would argue that’s not true in the least. Hamas drove out the PLO and did so with the most violent of methods. While HAMAS has no intention of ever coming to an agreement with Israel, the PLO has done so even if not complete. Yes the people have links, but the two governments don’t in anyway whatsoever.  Now if you wipe out HAMAS you can link the two lands once again, but until then they are for all practical purposes separate entities.

It says more than 11,000 children are known to have been killed or wounded as a direct result of the fighting. There are 4.5 million refugees.

If Israel wanted to lay waste to Gaza without so much as a concern for non combatants, the death toll would parallel that seen in Syria and Yemen. Israel is the only country in the region that calls people to tell them to get out of a target, or drops adud on a building as a warning to leave. Yes, I know, this is not good enough for a man who cheerleads for Russia  which targeted Ukrainian kindergartens and helped the Syrians barrel bomb its people.  The take away for me is that there is a double standard applied here. One for Israel, and another for the Arabs, most of whom celebrate death over life.

The deal has already been agreed by the Israeli parliament, there is a 24 hour window for an appeal but looks like its a done deal. 

You seem a little confused on your terminology though, there is a war going on not a slaughter and the ceasefire is only temporary for 4 or 5 days. There's still thousands of Hamas terrorists to deal with along with their infrastructure.
