There is also a “test to release” process that may help you end isolation early. You may know all this already? All information as ever on the .gov.uk website https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19#if-you-are-not-fully-vaccinated My question was really how to get 'fully vaccinated' with a third jab. I don't fancy staying in my brother's family spare room for ten days. Not fair on his family. So the alternative is a £2k+ hotel room. I'd like to avoid this. Agree but in my case because my first jab (Sinovac) is not acceptable but my second (AStra Zenica) is, I now need a third jab to get in without quarantine (hotel or self) so my choices are one more AZ or 2 mRNA. THe problem, as usual is how do I get one more, esp when half of Thailand still have none. I am not clear if 1 x SV + 1 x AZ + 1 mRNA is an acceptable mix. May need to be 1 x SV + 2 x AZ. Fortunately I have no scheduled date for my trip home, so as usual, will play the waiting game. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/6388-news-forum-thailand-to-be-removed-from-uk-red-list-from-monday/page/4/#findComment-78551 Share on other sites

You can get out of isolation early I believe by paying for a “Test to release” on day 5. No, havent yet booked a ticket . Theres a football game in London on Saturday that I want to watch , I can probably see the ground from my house in London , but if I go back to the U.K. , I will be stuck quarantined at home and unable to watch the game (unless I can use a neighbours wifi connection) , so I may as well stay in Thailand to watch the game and go back next week , Hows times have changed , there was a time when people would travel thousands of miles to watch football games , these days , its a case of NOT travelling thousands of miles to watch a football game . I have been checking out the flights though and the cheapest is 9000 Baht (CM -London) and the most expensive is 223 000 Baht (although there will probably be some extra costs) You need to be careful though because the 9000 Baht flight , the CM-BKK flight may be a domestic flight and you would have to collect your bags at BKK and go through immigration there and then check in to the new BKK-Lon flight and you only get 90 minutes to do that . Thai air have direct flights to London from BKK for 17 000 Baht +(Including the CM-BKK flight) Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/6388-news-forum-thailand-to-be-removed-from-uk-red-list-from-monday/page/4/#findComment-80909 Share on other sites

I went to CM airport yesterday and there are no more international flights from there , all departures are domestic , so you need to go through immigration in Bangkok . I would leave at least four hours between arriving in BKK and departing , needing to collect your bags and the check in and go through immigration .
