RIPPED OFF AGAIN -TAXI

Nothing leaves a poor memory of a great holiday than being blatantly ripped off by a taxi driver. I got picked up at The Landmark on Sukhumvit at 5:00AM this morning. I asked why his meter was cover over and the availability light stayed green. He muttered something in Thai then said "No English" repeatedly. I should of got out then but did not want to be late for my flight. Then he proceeded to drive at between 120-150kmh constantly, even in the 90 zones. I asked him to slow down but again "No English". Got to the airport where he demanded 500 Baht. I threw 300 at him and things got heated. So I called security. All of a sudden he accepted my more than generous offer. I do have a question though. Where or who do I right to bring this to light. The cab company is the tourist board?

Report a Bangkok Taxi to the Land Transport Department Hotline on ph # 1584. You may need a picture of the taxi # or the licence displayed on the dashboard.
