A military-backed opponent’s high-ranking member also extended support, hoping to put an end to the long-standing stalemate, reported Bangkok Post.

Well, that would inspire confidence no end.

How bloody thick are they or just naive thinking the populace will accept it.

Unless there are tanks on the streets tourists generally don't care too much - and it is the two week tourists that are the bread and butter of the industry. Ongoing investment elsewhere is another matter though, and having no actual government is a big red flag for investors.
