Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt insists that no public entertainment events will be cancelled in the city despite pleas from the Ministry of Public Health. The 56 year old city chief said that cancelling any upcoming events without reason would cause panic among the people. The Public Health Permanent Secretary, Kiattiphum Wongrajit, informed the media that he wanted to meet Chadchart to discuss a new plan to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Bangkok. Well done this man. There are far to many so called medical experts voicing opinions and attempting to continuacurb public freedom. The virus is not on a large upward trend and uses of misinformation by those who are merely fronts for the security apparatus need to be curved. Thai people are some of the most responsible in the planet when it comes to mask wearing, so outdoor public events are no threat. It is about time someone stood up to the all controlling centre and spoke up for the common person.

Exactly right. He meets unhinged fear mongering and sanctimony from “public health” officials with logic, data, and humility.

We have vaccines and therapeutics—cancelling events to stop possible infection is at best a second best option. Also I notice how only new BMA sponsored events carry covid risks but not government sponsored events.
