News Forum - Thailand tourist fee: 300 baht via air, 150 baht via land/sea
I have paid tourist fees in Cambodia, Vietnam, Colombia and some other places I can't recall I never gave it a 2nd thought Well, I would prefer not to simply because I had to go to another counter when landing, but after that I literally never thought of it again on my trip........and I'd suspect 99% of the tourists would do the same -

News Forum - Five US police officers charged with murder over fatal beating of black man
This is the initial stop This is not proper or normal police procedure so you can't tell someone that they should comply when confronted like that Compliance is no longer an option or should be expected It's the same situation as any group of thugs running up on you I've been arrested 4 or 5x and always complied because it's the smart thing to do I even had a police officer on top of me with a gun to my nose But he was correct in doing so and did it in a proper police manner So I complied When police aren't acting properly, and in a police manner They are then no longer acting as police Then "compliance" is not warranted and not a given You are then fearing for your life https://twitter.com/DubiousPod/status/1619187077035479041?t=7YFBeqvno8NaVzlfSWF9SQ&s=19 -

So if this was done by 5 white cops, would it still be considered the daily grind/tension? Seems to be can’t have it both ways.- 1

News Forum - Thailand tourist fee: 300 baht via air, 150 baht via land/sea
Ill-advised decision. Reflects short-term thinking, perhaps populist revenue raising? Dumb. Yes, the new fees will raise significant revenues. Kudos. Well done. And the the fees are not expensive compared with the price of a whole trip. Okay. However, what is the message received when visitors travel here, there and elsewhere? Ah… Thailand is after every cent they can get from us. A greedy, unscrupulous country. Is the effect of the fee productive or counterproductive in the grand scheme of things?
