Not at all surprised by the results of this study.  Articles about an 11 year old with STD, or possibly worst, with an 18 year old infected girl friend,    coupled with the elementary school boy who tested positive for STD and mentioned that if he was infected, then so was his entire class, give a pretty clear picture of the sexual mores scattered throughout Thailand.  And it gets worse as they get older. Mistresses are commonly accepted,  and same sex couples abound. Promiscuity is no different than many other countries but here,   it is more accepted.

Really? 10,x is "getting worse as they getting older"?

Also the top position, Tuerkey, with 14,x in livetime, did they ask any woman?

Honestly, I can not really see this as real.

The average Thai is not especially licentious, IMO. But there is more cultural acceptance of men with mistresses, of prostitution, of sex with ladyboys,,, only prostitution might, really, add much to the lifetime number of sexual partners, someone might have. And how many Thaulanders are prostitutes, or use their services? As with the Netherlands, only a few locations in the country, are particularly permissive, accepting, or tolerant of sex work. Most Thai nationals never have gone to the few towns  or plazas, where prostitution is high profile. Which means their aquarium experiences with sex work, ought to be the same as most countries.
