Laws in Thailand are not sufficiently harsh enough to discourage this trade.

Thailand probably needs the threat of international sanctions to smarten up.

Seems they only react when the BIG stick comes out.

The current buffoons in charge couldn't smarten up if they wanted to sadly.

The upcoming election will determine  the prospects for Thailand in he coming years......I'm not holding my breath....sadly.

This article is totally “bias” against Thailand’s saviors from the north. To claim any involvement by Chinese in scams,  human trafficking,  and/or other illegal activities is a smear on Thailand’s hopes to encourage these very same scams, cheap labor, money laundering, and questionable investments, all of which brings much needed capital to a country devastated by draconian restrictions during pandemic.

The laws here addressing white collar crimes are insufficient to eradicate the problems, most of which are clear cut cases of deals too good to be true.  As far as “romance” scams are concerned, they happen a thousand times a day in mostly clubs and bars, throughout the country.  What are authorities doing about that problem.  Maybe a GO FUND ME for sick water buffaloes.
