The developers of Thailand’s first mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccine are urging the Food and Drug Administration to approve it for emergency use during the booster roll-out. The Bangkok Post reports that, in a bid to become self-reliant in vaccine manufacture, the government has allocated a budget of 1 billion baht to developers. The mRNA-based ChulaCov19 vaccine is being developed at Chulalongkorn University, under the leadership of Kiat Ruxrungtham. He says the team is now concerned that by the time the development process is complete, at least 70% of the population will already be fully vaccinated. He is calling on the FDA […]

Better slow down the use of other vaccines then....🙄

And scared that they will lose out on a smaller share of profits. Maybe they even won’t make any money.

That is of course outrageous.

We are not in an emergency situation anymore, as far as approved options for vaccination are concerned. Thát was, and could be, the only reason for fast-tracking.

There is no need for unnecessary risk while fully approved vaccines are available. In fact fast-tracking would be unethical under the current circumstances.

Offer money to be a guinea pig .. think enough would take up that option ..and don't forger this company is only going to produce 30 million a year ..2.5 million a month!

That would US exactly did. Threw out the well established protocols and within 9 months approved new vaccines based on new technology. Then Biden administration trying to force upon Americans this experimental vaccine! It is ridiculous, how this speeding up is "Science" this year, when it was not "Science" last year! 🤔

"Eighteen months might sound like a long time, but in vaccine years, it's a blink. That's the long end of the Trump administration's time window for developing a coronavirus vaccine, and some leaders in the field say this is too fast -- and could come at the expense of safety."

Here we go with the same nonsense again 🤣 a few billion doses later and subsiding problems in highly vaccinated countries and you're still unsure. Your buddies changing their mind in ICU had the same attitude, until it was too late.

Of course it's not the same!

You may choose to ride a bus which may possibly not be 100% safe with a driver without license if it's the only one available for months. And when you arrive safely at your destination, you are very happy.

But when there's an excellent bus with a licensed driver, no need to take excess risk, which is what this Thai company is asking for while trialled, proven and licensed alternatives are available.

Learn to think man, it's getting tedious.

(Now you can mention Israel, which is what you usually do to make it look even more silly when it's explained to you for the 10th time) 🤣🤣🤣

They just want to roll like Pfizer and Moderna... no need to finish testing.... start rolling in the profits.  They are simply dong what others have done and many here rushed to get the jab so why is this any different?

If you believe in the mRNA vaccines this should be a "no brainer" for you.

What could possibly go wrong?

What they should be doing is developing a vaccine that is as close to 100% effective against all variants. Then it would have a place in the ongoing effort.

Yeah but as many virologists have indicated leaky vaccines create the variants.  Good luck with that one.

Good idea, if you predict which new variants will arrive, then they can start working on it immediately 🥴

I think it a good idea to fast track.  The technology is now proven so it's good to join the show. Because it's new it could attach the delta variant better. Get on with it before the Chinese come up with their latest fly by night product.

That said the big push should be for more and better therapeutics.  Like AIDS therapeutics were the key to control. Vaccines plus therapeutics.

That's not what I said, but happy to answer.

The Chinese already have their mRNA. ARCoVax. Shipping in a few days.

There's no reason to believe the Thai mRNA is more effective against Delta, as they didn't publish anything worth reading yet.

And if it is fast-tracked, we'll get the same discussion about safety again.

We have great vaccines after a period of uncertainty. No need to take totally unnecessary risks anymore.

Amazzing that something as so obvious as your post will not doubt be debated by people who really should have the intelligence to know better. Mind you there will no doubt be some so claimed "experts" who will claim a viral antedote can be developed before the virus or its mutation are known. As my Mother used to say "you can't expect any when there isn't any" alluding to common sense of course

Not this time buddy, if TAT were behind it then it would have been claimed to work against the whole Greek alphabet!

The profits would be mind blowing! …. Imagine all those people that go after, if it’s too good to be true …. 😂😂😂. But they do have a department of fake news now to take care of it.

You have been caught bullshitting so many times. Like that totally made up "safe" vaccination rate for opening. And now Thailand is doing wrong, according to you, when it was ok to do the exact same thing for USA. And of course you ignore the obvious conflicts of interest between Big Pharma and FDA/CDC. Like two former FDA commissioners working now for them. One for Pfizer BOD and one for Moderna.

At least we did a bit of testing in the UK before we began injecting. Sounds like the Thai vaccine wont be tested just a quick photo and thumbs up from Anutin and Co, and away you go.

You'd have to show me being wrong once still, friend... You shout a lot but never show any evidence 😉 and you change the subject each time you have no answer. Typical tactic....

Your conspiracy fears are of the flat earth type. And I don't care whether you take or refuse the vaccine anyway. That's a personal choice. What I do mind about is your continued spreading of disinformation that may influence others.

The situation last year was one where we waited for a vaccine. And the new vaccines looked very promising and were well worth taking a risk.

Now we have experience with billions of doses, more research than ever before and they're now licensed.

So no necessity to take further risk with something new.

Which part of 8-10 years of vaccine development you do not understand? It is like giving Polonium 210 at the same time to a billion people and reporting two days later that nobody is ill, Polonium is safe. But all of them would be dead within 9 months. You get the idea?

Not that mRNA/viral vector-vaccines are like that but we do not know the long term effects because nobody took a jab in 2012 or 2015 or 2019 even. But what we know there are some very worrying early signals and examples of very serious side effects.

Thanks for not replying with anything resembling evidence again 🙏 but changing the subject as usual.

That's why it's no use discussing anything with you, as it never leads anywhere.

Don't take the vaccine... I really don't care. You'll be isolating yourself in society.

Your group deliberately misinterpretes studies, tables, graphs. And when it's explained to you, you just repeat the same nonsense in other threads... it's not accidental, you do it deliberately.

I told you before, I don't have the same doubts you have. The early research was more than sufficient to take the risk and that has been proven since. Hence the registrations.

And if I do grow a third thumb, then it was my decision to take the risk, rather than to take the much larger risk of ending up in ICU or 6 foot under!

Off you go on the well earned ignore list 🤣
