What an awesome spread SG. I hope you had some help in the kitchen.

Thank you ET. No help at all. My husband just on the sofa, watching sports. ☺️ Luckily I could manage it to get everything done at the same time. Chicken in the oven, roast the shrimp earlier and made the sauce earlier ( kept them in the fridge)  lamb skewer on the electric grill, while roasting the chicken and veggies, I made mashed potatoes, after that I still have time to grill the steak on the grill pan. Multitasking is needed!

What a great idea ET! Now I am thinking what I am gonna cook 🤔

Brussels sprouts for me please 😆 Grilled salmon with a marmalade glaze, baked potato with sour cream ... Apple pie and custard for dessert.  That would be my wish list menu, if only we could get quality salmon here.  You wouldn't want to know the price of imported sprouts.🙄

Good idea KaptainRob, I was thinking to do grilled salmon for lunch. Maybe now baked potato too. Or maybe a secret surprise 🤣

You'd possibly do a teriyaki sauce for the salmon which is another favourite of mine.   NZ salmon teriyaki >

Salmon cooking tip:-

Many apartment dwellers do not like cooking salmon due to the pervading aroma which can easily permeate their rooms, even common areas.  An outside kitchen or BBQ solves that for most house owners but there's another way .... baking paper!

Simply wrap each fillet as a parcel and zap in the microwave, careful not to overcook, then serve with your premade sauce or lemon wedge.  No smell!  Experiment with cooking times depending on portion size and microwave power setting.  ie: I use medium power (600w) for 2 minutes for pink middle, medium well.

It's on then!

Spicy_girls New Years Challenge:

What about a framework?

Like:

No re-plated restaurant food.

Doesn't have to be from scratch, but does require some effort from the cook.

Maybe the Super-duper-all-seeing-all-knowing Admins/Mods could let us vote on the entry's?

No such thing

Or....perhaps you weren't aware of this  😀

I know of your strict operational definition of Pizza.

So what should we call these other permutations?

'Flat bread that has been baked with stuff on top' seems a little wordy.

Maybe 'Pizza-ish'?

Pizza-like?

Pseudo-Pizza?

???

Haha

I'm just being a dick  5555

That's my pizza thing

I would say it's Flatbread but call it pizza too!

I'd love my wife to try it,  see what she thinks

That is her favorite Thai dish, so be interesting to see if she liked it as a "pizza"

Well she wants Hawaiian, so that's the 1st issue

And she doesn't understand how food works 555

Oh and my wife knows pizza

I've been dragging her to my favorite spots in Boston and NYC for 16 years!   😀

Not her favorite but she will have some

Plus all the little ones in Thailand love pizza

So she is often taking them to Pizza Company for birthdays, etc

The extractor fan is usually taking away the smell and we have a window right by the cook top. I don’t know why, no smell. Maybe depend on the type of salmon?

I just baked it with 180/200 degrees for about 10-15 mins.

Baking not too bad unless a fan-forced oven.  Frying the biggest problem.

My apartment building is 70% Asian, 15% Middle Eastern and the rest Caucasian

So many smells coming from everywhere no one can complain   😀
