So we have established that There are many counties that suffer from corruption and Thailand is the focus of this thread.

The question is, does anyone have a solution to this problem.

We can't go on bagging Thailand saying that corruption is so endemic that it is impossible to stop.

There must be a way

Do you start at the top 'Power creates greed, greed creates corruption'

Do you start at the bottom ' The only way to get to the top is to pay your way up'  

I don't have the answer but it seems that Singapore is pretty close to the end goal. I guess a government committed to paying government workers a wage sufficient to live well and implement penalties that reduces the temptation to participate in corrupt activities would be a start. This may require the people at the top to sacrifice some of their renumeration to achieve this.

I have met many wonderful Thai people, who knows some of them may be able to achieve change.

Singapore in the 70s and 80s used Draconian laws like detention without trials under the Internal Security Act (ISA) and if tried, those who commit heinous corruption are liable to be whipped or canned. That's how they describe deterrence under Lee Kuan Yew.
