As China’s immensely tedious political meeting drags on, nothing much is happening except droning announcements by unremarkable men in cheap black suits. So when Xi Jinping walks onto the stage in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, people pay attention, if only to the pleasingly tailored lines of the chairman’s apparel. There were no surprises. His address paid tribute to the party’s achievements under his guidance and pledged more of the same. His plans are for economic aggression overseas and an even greater tightening of his iron grip on matters at home. He presented his vision of continuity […]

The story Xi Jinping’s recipe for success – more of the same as seen on Thaiger News.

Jinping talks, the whole Country listens and applaudes or 'disappear'.

What he should announce is China is in lockdown whilst he is ruling China.

If in lockdown he will be otherwise busy which is good news.

Chinese economy going to crap under his guidance, real estate totally shot, GDP going the same way due to lockdowns.  He is his own worst enemy at the moment BUT when your backs against the wall you fight.

China is losing respect (and possible fear) of Putin and the Russian claim to be a world player and is probably eying off those territories of east Russia that China has yet to possibly rightfully lay claim.

China got shafted many years ago to this area of what was China.

Coincidently they are rich in resources that China needs. Gas, oil etc.

Forget Taiwan he's going to East Russia after Putin gets a kicking in Ukraine and Russian forces are demoralised and beaten. Next year they'll have war games with a massive Chinese contingent but the Chinese don't go home.

Taiwan can wait another 50 years. They'll just stoke fear of invasion for most of those years.

China can be self sufficant and a dominant power with the oil and gas fields of East Russia.

Putins is finished as is Russia as a world player.  Think (hopefully) the Russian people with ensure this outcome.

Don't think there will any nuke Russian comeback against another nuke capable nation living next door particularly when historically China will be right.

Heck it is just another annexation which Putin believes in wholeheartedly.

China is not doing so well. The dictatorIal methods of Xi ar slowly eroding away China's economy.

At present the West has relied on China to make stuff and export it. But interest in this will wane.  Companies like Musk and Apple are beginning to regret their investments there. The Car companies will lose market to the home produced vehicles.

However China still seems to think export and trade is the way to go - building railways etc to allow access to India and the West...however those markets on't expand as hope if China keeps on the course they are on at the moment.

They will have to develop a bigger home market, but that won't be possible in a draconian society.

Usually when dictators run into difficulties, they start a war or at least cultivate an enemy - so it is really a self-perpetuating cycle.

Let's hope it gets broken

I think you have made some very valid points which I agree with. Hopefully top of the list will be the demise of Putin.

I do hope so. Not sure if it’s just me, but the world seems so much quieter now they are all locked back in China. Feels like the 1980’s all over again. Long live Xi
