Is Thailand really under recession? Are Thai people facing economic turmoil?......Looks like there is a bigger gap between the haves and have nots. TAT has been trying hard to promote local tourism to revive the industry with not enough support from international tourism. But Thais are travelling abroad for vacation causing money outflow...

I would not be too quick to judge the numbers here.  I would guess that most of the pax will be Taiwanese, either tourists returning home, or Taiwanese working expats  and the others may well be Thai workers who have contract work in Taiwan, such as many in my my g/fs family. Taiwan is not a natural tourist destination for Asians as its expensive to both get there are stay.

This article does not once mention anything about the Thai economy or recession, or standard of living/GNI, or anything to that point. The news here is that Taiwan is now open. And that's good for anyone wanting to go to Taiwan.
