Unfortunately, these tragedies are all too common in Thailand. I was driving in Chiang Mai just this evening and witnessed a foreigner riding his motorbike far too fast with no crash helmet and weaving in and out of the traffic. Sunday evenings are usually quite busy due to the weekly market (walking street). I really don't understand why these people feel the need to speed through such busy areas, no matter how much experience they have. It's just plain crazy!
I agree, but the underlying question is why do they like it. They weren’t born liking it. They have been conditioned to like it. So why is the question. If this is driven out of a sense of fair play and inclusivity, then I’m ok with that. If it’s out of early indoctrination to the military and the military being a part of day to day life, then I’m not ok with it.
