The 6 tourists had all come to Thailand utilizing the now-suspended Test & Go programme that allows people to enter without quarantine aside from a brief wait for test results to be returned. All the tourists reported to the police that they did not mean to escape without test results and that they did not realize that they were at any risk of being infected or being exposed to Covid-19.

What planet have they been on?

What the heck did they think the second test was for?

The second test isn't only because they're "at risk of being infected or being exposed to Covid-19" in Thailand, but is because they could have been infected after their pre-departure test or on the flight, and that may not have shown on their first test on arrival as the virus takes time to incubate..

Take  em outside and shoot  em, string up the corpses at the city gates, good  job the  officials like Anutjob dont do dumb things  then  publicise it in their maskless  parties. Witch  hunts  alll  over, acrtually have no idea  why  people  feel  this "need  to travel" at times like this!

Le Frenchman should've surrendered , the Pole should've vaulted and the Swisser could've rolled back to their hotels where they could have a whale of a time with the Norwegian after they'd been seal-ed in their rooms ..

Stringing up the hospital staff that took 3 days to process the Covid tests seems harsh ;-)

This is the second test.

There’s no requirement for a second “quarantine” for your second test. They arrived between the 26th and 29th so the test was supposed to be on th 6th day — January 2nd-5th and positive results came out on the 8th. They carried on with their holiday as one would expect. Other tourist resorts hardly seems a place to go in hiding.

Hope they know how permissive Thai defamation laws are.

They have now been transferred to the mainland in Trat’s Muang district to be treated at the Bangkok Hospital.

Do they NEED any treatment? Did read, that they did not feel a thing, before they got caught. So how about get 'em in a 'hospitel'? Ah, ok, the Bankok Hospital is private and charges a lot more for a room, kauchai!

If just the Norwegian would have been a woman in the 30's ...!

So I wonder. Koh Chang is not a huge place. Did all 6 actually switch resorts after their test, or were these locations the places they were staying anyway? In which case the manhunt would be unnecessary if the hospital had just written down their accomodation 😉

Yes, some travelers will have covid.  But, as a whole, travelers are far less likely to have common cold than a Thai.  So here is the logic that authorities are using...

— Covid strains from travelers are 10x worse than covid from locals —

I have the Thaichana app on my phone, most of the time it never works or the AIS Network is so pathetic it comes up with " No Internet Connection ".

About time the Police actually charged these idiots and the courts jailed them for 6 months, fined them 100,000THB and stamped their passports " never to return ".

Well, they do, so get over it already.

Because most of us like to live life and not be suckered into the scam that this pretend pandemic is. The last real Pandemic killed about 2,7% of the world's population, at the time about 1.8 billion people, over 50 million got the flu, whole families wiped out. This Influenza has taken just over 5 million in two years. So I think it's more in line with the seasonal flu, which for some reason has disappeared for the last two years, why is that hey?? Dying with Covid is different to actually dying of covid. Notice they never tell us how many pass away from covid alone??

Indeed, there is no need to travel. Whether one believes this virus "threat" is greatly exaggerated, to give the stage for an entirely different program that has nothing to do with a health emergency, is irrelevant. With the present insecurity where one can find themselves in quarantine, fined or even arrested I think it is wiser to stay home. Also it will give a chance to countries to reassess their dependency on tourism to sustain their economies and diversify. Also because of the environmental damage that is caused by especially mass tourism.
