The only reason this is being looked at (against the wishes of the people) is so more money can be skimmed off into the pockets of the already rich Hi-so.

Casino's attract big-time criminal syndicates as in all other countries:- Australia's Crown Casino and even Poker Machines in clubs and pubs all rife with criminal behaviour - magnets for money laundering!  Little old PURE NZ, SkyCity Casino has attracted many Asian crime bosses and drug money laundering.  Sihanoukville has been over-run by Chinese crime bosses and Cambodians get very little, if any benefit, at all.

Governments love the income from taxes collected and for this reason alone it may already be a done deal.  The committee members may naturally enjoy junkets to various existing Casino cities, carefully stage-managed, and be able to report back as to what a wonderful enhancement this would be in lieu of bars and gogo's lining the streets of Pattaya or Patong.

It would be a very bad day for Thailand if Casino's were allowed.  Oh, and I'm not anti-gambling, I've spent many hours in London Casino's, especially the (original) Playboy Club on Park Lane ... of course, I was only there for the atmosphere ...🤓
