News Forum - Thailand rice is on the rise with global GI glamour
Here in Japan, there is a rice shortage at the moment and even with the 500%+ import tariff, foreign rice is often a cheaper, more practical option. Interesting that Thai rice is often seen by consumers as the only acceptable alternative to home-grown rice, the other major sources being USA, China, India and Australia. Japanese only ever eat rice from those other countries when they don’t realise that’s where it’s from (chain restaurants etc). Good quality or good marketing, no idea. But in the pickiest rice market in the world, Thailand is doing well.- 1

Marriage FAQ....? Advice?
IMO best to get married and registered in Thailand, then register that marriage back in USA afterwards. If something goes wrong in the future, then your assets are much 'safer' than they would be if the marriage is in USA (depending on the State). My Thai wife and I did that because of the marriage laws in Australia, and the need to make sure my assets in Australia go to her in Thailand. No need for a pre-nuptual in Thailand, but definitely both of you should get two Wills - one for each country and covering all the assets in those countries. -
