The poll’s findings show that domestic tourism is set to generate 5.72 billion baht during the upcoming long weekend, with over 1.8 million trips planned. Omicron not affecting domestic tourism sentiment this holiday weekend.

Why should it effect Domestic travelers. The PM has told you he will not let Omicron in so party on.

I see the TAT got some new batteries for its famous calculator 5.72 Billion Baht. Surprised they didn't go full hog and make it Trillion...

Much as the travel subsidy played a significant part in  increasing domestic bookings last Songkran  -  and spreading the Corona Virus across Thailand, starting the current wave  ...

... why not repeat it given how well it worked before 😂 ?

Given the way omicron has exploded in South Africa (at the cost of Delta variant cases) it might not be a bad thing.

Seems it is more infectious but far less severe. At least for the vaccinated that is.

Of course the anti vaxxers will have their amulets and knowledge of secret information from non mainstream media to protect them.

So they should be OK too 😷

Oh no, people are not buying the Omicron bs! 😮 What to do??? Hmm do we have any scarier names?

What do they expect? After 2 years of this stuff.... Then again a new variant shows up? Everyone is tired of it at some point. Some can't get enough of the fearporn but I think a huge amount of people is done with it and just want to live with it and move on.

Agreed on all counts, but I think it's very much a best case scenario if it gives any immunity to other variants.

If it happens then we can all relax and go home for tea and medals as you've said, but as yet there's no sign of that although it looks increasingly as if it'll just mean nobody's any worse off - or any better unless it really does replace Delta rather than just add to it.

Early days ...

This guy is very good at boiling it all down. Omicron is displacing virtually ALL the other variants.

Let's hope so, but I think I'll wait for a few more experts to have their say first.

The variant is there but the way they talk about it in the news vs how it actually is, is bs.

So being cautious until we find out more about something is bad?
