The Director-General of the Health Service Department confirmed that the program will province intrauterine devices for women in need at all state and private hospitals that are connected to the NHSO. This is a truly wonderful policy and frankly I am a bit surprised that it has been enacted. Sadly, in too many countries, old men make the decisions and they almost uniformly make decisions based on their weird notion that young women don't or shouldn't have sex; it is as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Contraception allows women to be women, allows them to choose to finish High School (at least) before they have kids, allows them to not be harmed by 'accidents', and gives them a fighting chance at a good life. I pass no moral judgments on teen-age mothers, but the simple fact is that their lives aren't going to be as good as other women who wait until their twenties/finish their education to have a child.

Good one, Thailand; I didn't think you had it in you.

A good step forward, but a male contraceptive is also needed as vasectomies are not reversible after a few years.

Education and parental guidance are needed.

IUD's should be mandatory until a certain level of income and stability is reached

Highly encouraged but not mandatory.  There's this concept of basic human rights that should not be compromised.
