Sorry, must be another misunderstanding. Poor Public Health Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul. The mercurial Thai deputy PM and leader of the Bhumjaithai political party, continues to be barred from entering Switzerland until he receives another booster Covid vaccine. But confusion surrounds his misgivings last week. He was heading to a World Health Organisation meeting at the end of November but was told his vaccine record wouldn’t suffice for entry into the country. Minister Anutin had already received 2 Sinovac Covid vaccines back in February, then later had an AstraZeneca ‘booster’ shot. But the Minister said this didn’t pass muster for the […]

Now why wasn't Anutin allowed into Switzerland???? How about lack of common sense!!!

Any person traveling overseas should at least know the laws and rules of entry especially during a pandemic.

For somebody who's nation has draconian entry requirements surely he would at least ask about other countries requirements.

I'm very happy this happened to private airport/ private golf course Anutin but the sad part is that Thailand loses face because of this twats stupidity.

He had his sinostuff in February. so does that mean he should have had his booster in August ? Before they started giving boosters..

Another valid point. Considering his position as Health Minister, the mans actions and lack of knowledge aren't exactly a shining example to others.

The guy that now says to travel you should get an mRNA vaccine. Chance would be a fine thing mate, we live in Thailand. You should probably speak to the guy in charge of that...

Or just an undesirable deputy leader of a military junta that has no international respect.

This is all very amusing, but there is a valid point about different vaccines and their acceptability or otherwise in various countries. It isn't necessarily a case of the vaccine not being effective, but in may not have been through the other country's approval process as yet. From what I've seen so far, it seems to be up to the manufacturer to apply for approval in a country. If the company hasn't applied yet, it doesn't get approval unless it does. Either way, it's a good idea to check. Time for a new gofer, Anutin.

That can't be true because they have let others in with zero international respect 😉

No but not see him as a quality tourist or anybody who would be respected in St. Moritz a high end destination

This is a fishy story. Where did you get the information that he was refused entry? If he was refused entry it would be very unlikely that it was due to Covid restrictions (for Swiss purposes he is fully vaccinated but would also be on government business).

Just a wrinkle in the Swiss internal systems. Shows that Thailand isn't alone in these matters but you try telling some on here about it.

I'm no fan of imbeciles such as .... , but I have to say the Swiss covid regulations are rather difficult to decode.  The only sure way to tell if you're allowed to enter or not is to have them say "no".

Also, the Swiss consider Thailand to be a high-risk country, whereas Ukraine (exponential Covid death rate, now exceeding 700 fatalities/day) is not.  Go figure.

Time to get your head out of the sand and realise sinovac is not working on mutant viruses and people do not want 4 doses of this poison

You have been offered millions of free doses of moderna from US & Euorpe  but are too foolish to accept and you are not helping thai people..

Its working in China pretty well. They seem content with it. Perhaps you could take your world-shattering revelations over there?
