The fathers logic is another ‘’ head scratcher ‘’

My Thai wife’s elderly father has been unwell for nearly a year now , every time I see him he looks thinner and gaunt  . Its plainly obvious that he needs to seek medical attention . I asked my wife why her father has not been to see a hospital doctor . My wife said that her father was happy going to see a local clinic based in some one’s house. At this so called clinic the ‘’ doctor ‘’ and I use that word lightly , prescribes some pills and charged the father 2,500 baht . Her father has now been to the same clinic on many occasions and again every time he was prescribed pills and charged the same 2,500 Baht . The father’s symptoms even after taking the clinics prescribed pills has not improved at all. 

My wife has now told me that the real reason her father does not want to go and see a hospital doctor is because her father is convinced that the hospital doctor may give him some bad news, and her father does not want to hear any bad news. 

 

To me the fathers logic is another ‘’ head scratcher ‘’

that's a lot of money for a local 'clinic' maybe more of a witch doctor than a medical doctor, i think bad news from a doctor is something we all fear when ill, and may cause us to delay going.
