As the UK prepares to host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference, the British government is urging Thailand to sign a key pact. The UK is hosting the climate talks, known as COP26, in partnership with Italy. The event takes place in Glasgow, Scotland, between October 31 and November 12. "Yesterday, the Cabinet confirmed a new national energy plan that aims to achieve net-zero status sometime between 2065 and 2070."

Respectfully, when a country "confirms" that it will meet a reduction plan 45-50 years in the future, it is essentially stating that it is promising nothing at all.

Quick question: how many members of the Cabinet do you think will still be alive in 45-50 years?

Just to balance the books a little - from the BBC this week :-

Fix our Climate:

AEM Electrolyser, Thailand/Germany/Italy: A clever design in Thailand using renewable energy to make hydrogen by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen is a clean gas but it is usually produced by burning fossil fuels

This picked up  a £1m award from one of the royal family
