The director of a Bali yachting firm says Indonesia is preparing to ease entry restrictions for yachts and fully vaccinated crew and passengers. Thomas Taatjes from Asia Pacific Superyachts says foreign nationals will be required to present proof of Covid-19 vaccination when applying for a visa. “Foreigners who apply for the visa must have a certificate showing they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. They will have to undergo a 7 nights/8 days quarantine in a hotel if arriving by air to rendezvous with a yacht, or onboard the vessel if they arrive at a seaport.” The development has been confirmed […]

Well, it might mean the yachties who've been bleating that they're stuck here as they've got nowhere else to go won't have that excuse any more ...

Who wants to go to Indonesia? The nearest port of entry for yachts is Nongsa Point, Batam. To get there one must travel through Malaysia, stopping even overnight not allowed. Plus this is not the time of year to make such a passage given the nasty weather. Why do you want us to leave? We probably spend more money here than the tourists and ex-pats.

Like us most of the yachts here came from Malaysia. Malaysian ports have been closed to foreign yachts since March 18th 2020. Hopefully we won't have to wait until May/June to get back there. I'll keep you in mind though.
