hopefully will continue to go down

Strange that the numbers are not coming down in the correctional facilities. Must be pushing for herd immunity there? They must be healthy too, as no reports of Covid deaths there. Maybe all the drugs taken have strengthened their immune systems.

Here in Chiang Mai things were going really well. Daily numbers were heading into the single digits. Travel started up and guess what happened daily figures have shot up over the last few days.

I've been shouting it from the rooftops for weeks. Guess what? A bit of $ is more important.

Probably all dead or already in hospital. One was to solve prison overcrowding !

I’m not surprised and I’m sure you aren’t. It’s basic common sense isn’t it. This is a respiratory virus. It speeds through aerosols discharged as people breathe, talk, shout, sing and sneeze. If you don’t go near anyone then you can’t catch it. It doesn’t hang in the air for days on end. Lockdown and restricting movements then cases fall. Open up and mingle with other people, cases for up.

A little tidbit one should be aware of:

In the UK, the majority of those now in hospital with Covid-19 are unvaccinated. Many face their last days with enormous regret, and their relatives are telling their stories to try to convince others like them

So obvious isnt it? And yet some people dont understand or accept that.

Lets hope the Thai Authorities dont open up to tourism too early (International or Locals) - December should be OK.  But if they open up again too soon (Oct), the Covid numbers will increase again, and away it will go again.  Hey Prayut et all - Do you remember Songkran???  Remember what happened after Songkran??  Repeat after me 100 times Prayut et al - 'Remember Songkran - Lest We Forget'.

Same in USA and Australia and NZ and everywhere.

In fact there is a classic story here.  Some removalists here ignored the fact that one of them was called and told he had tested positive. They drove to several towns in the State and caused all sorts of problems to all the people they came into contact with.  Then when they got home (2 of them brothers) their Mother was sick and died a few days later from Covid (unvaccinated).  Now they are warning people not to 'resist' the injections and to stay quarantined if testing positive. They are in custody but will be let out to attend the funeral.  Up to you - but get the vaccine if you are over 50 - the risks are worth it IMO.
