228 coronavirus-related deaths and 14,176 new Covid-19 cases were reported today by the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration. In the latest and most severe wave of Covid-19 in Thailand, first recorded on April 1, the CCSA has recorded a total of 1,293,656 confirmed Covid-19 cases. In the 24-hour period since the last count, the CCSA has recorded 16,769 more recoveries. There are now 142,644 active Covid-19 cases in Thailand. From those 228 deaths about only 10-15 were under 50 years old (most likely also very ill anyway from other diseases) and 40-50 deaths in the category 50-64, using US data as basis. Protect the elderly and otherwise vulnerable and that should be it. No lockdowns or shutdowns.

I've searched for the definition of "recoveries",  but unsuccessfully. But today I finally got it: daily covid cases x 1.2=daily recoveries.

So it’s a mathematical statistic for recovery ….. not that you now do not test for Covid anymore.
