Yeah, who knows exactly. But this is the rainy season and without the rain as in the afterwards the weather has been generally ok for most days. Where are they located in CM? That may have something to do with it as well. For in CM the province that is.

NJ gets a really bad wrap from some people, but if you go south a little there are some really nice villages, with large wooden framed family houses from 100 or more years ago, leafy streets etc.

But even close to NY there are some nice places in NJ, Morris Town for example. 

My favourite beer in the area was Samual Adams, I do not know where it is from but I like the beer. 

Nice one with Sam--I will be buying my fav Cherry Wheat this sunday..will toast one for you!

One sells plants by big c superhighway --bunch of thai plant shops in that area

my tea buddy has a tea cart by chinatown and ping river

There is a restaurant called River-Side in the town next to the Porn Ping River, live music, good food and drinks.

But it must have been fifteen years ago since I was there, is it still there?

Normal Thai working outside everyday. It could be snowing and they will say hot. :)

Still there. I first went there about 30 years ago. Well at least I think same one.

Yep and still packed every night.....as is good view who opened a 2nd bar across the street from 1st

Met one of the owners of RS, think his name was Onn.....when i used to DJ around CM...

Noodles with prawns, toasted ham and cheese sandwiches.

Tesco and Central Shopping too are great for food in the food halls normally on the top floor and very cheap while you are travelling. 

I agree about the ready made food, but if you don't like cheese like me, then you have just about had it as just about every sandwich has cheese on it.

Most countries have a selection of type of housing to live in.

Thailand is so hot that if I had to work there I would not go, but it is good as a long term tourist. Most Thais find it too hot as well, "rhon mark", they say a few times a day.

So if you can get round in you own air con car during the hot part of the day and then enjoy the cooler evenings then it great for long holidays.

I always wonder what happens to old farangs when they have stayed in Thailand for years and then get past 75 or even 80, surely they can not get medical insurance at that age and have to leave for free medical care back in their own country at some point. 

I know of such a person last year he was 80, he could not afford to pay for private treatment in Thailand and could not get insurance cover at that age,  he became ill, returned to the UK, went to hospital and died shortly afterwards as he had left it too late to get treatment in Thailand.

So my ideal scenario would not to sell your property in your own country, keep your investments there too, rent out your house and use the money from that to live on in Thailand, that way you will stay in parallel with house prices etc at home and so when you do have to return you will not be broke.

Surely if you are old and develop health problems in Thailand are are not skint, you can easily (in normal times) fly back to the UK then to wherever you are going to stay, get a hotel for a few days while looking for a bedsit.

That is what will happen to many old blokes I imagine in Thailand, that is why it is best to make sure your investments are back home so you can at least live to a good standard when you do have to return and not have to live in a bedsit. 

But a lot of farangs in Thailand do live in bedsits already, they are called condos.
