Any current or recent Sandboxers or expats in Kata / Karon area care to comment on things like open restaurants, scooter/car rental services, Things to Do, general advice, etc.?

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not a sandboxer, but things have been pretty quiet in Kata Karon for a long time.  It's definitely busier now than 6 months ago, but it's not busy.  Some restaurants are open, some are closed.

Things to do now are the same as they would be any time minus the nightlife.

I believe tonight there's a meeting about allowing alcohol back in Restaurants. Just heard this from a friend whom has a bar down in Rawai.
