So 'Mark' was a gay man, and the headline merely says 'Thai man'. If however he was preparing for a sex change, in order to sleep with heterosexual men, the headline would surely say 'trans' or 'ladyboy'. Offended? No. Amused? Yes.

The headline reads "Thai man accused of covering up boyfriend’s murder" If he is a man and has a boyfriend does that not tend to tell you he is gay?

It's not an attack on whoever Mark is, but on a curious fixation of headline writers, ie. pointing out when a criminal is a kathoey, when it isn't relevant. I sometimes point out, they don't point out if someone is gay, with the same, explicit eagerness. That is all.
