Excluding the superficial tissue parasites, like currents and mangoworm, maggot infestations are cleaning up neurotic tissues. In nether case would the brain be under threat from the maggots. Which are larvae unable cannot reproduce until metamorphosis into an imago or adult form of a fly, therefore, a maggot infestation cannot spread.

No. Myiasis can result in bacterial bloodstream infections, cellulitis and/or sepsis.  The case is nasopharyngeal myiasis, which means that the nose, sinuses, and pharynx are implicated. Sinuses are delicate and deep infection is easy. That is why we are told never to pluck nose hairs as wounds can allow bacteria to migrate into the head and brain. Although most myiasis cases can be quickly treated, there are different larvae.  Cochliomyia hominivorax, the New World screw-worm fly,  is a species of parasitic fly whose larvae have the ability to burrow into and to consume brain tissue.

There is only one report of an autopsy, recovering C. hominivorax from a human brain. The frontal region of the skull was damaged, so the larvae entered the brain somehow. The cause of death was respiratory.

Whether or not the larvae migrate to the brain doesn't really matter. Why you would fixate on that alone and ignore  the lead point that  Myiasis can result in bacterial bloodstream infections, cellulitis and/or sepsis  is silly.  Every medical textbook has  the similar references. I

Infestations can and do occur and are treated as potentially lethal. It doesn't mean people will  be devoured by larvae.  Invasive parasites that damage the brain are  not a secret. The New York Times just detailed RFK Jr.'s brain damage with a story (which explains why the poor fellow doesn't seem all there.)    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/08/us/rfk-jr-brain-health-memory-loss.html  In this case, the type of parasite is undetermined. However, RFK Jr. gave the following deposition in a legal proceeding;   The doctor believed that the abnormality seen on his scans “was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died”

in respect to the case at hand, there are multiple  scholarly articles that support the claim that myiasis, while rare, can be lethal. For example;

Human myiasis is a rare condition that is more common in regions with a warm and humid climate. The larvae involved in myiasis are voracious; they destroy healthy tissues and may cause serious haemorrhage. The condition can be life threatening. Six patients with craniofacial trauma and oral myiasis are reported. The diagnoses were made after larvae had been extracted. Treatment consisted of subcutaneous ivermectin therapy and the application of a phenol preparation (10% creolin) as a local measure for the control of larvae. After 12 (±1) days of hospitalization, no larvae remained in the patients' mouths and the patients were discharged. The laboratory identified the larvae as those of the fly Cochliomyia hominivorax. Healing was uneventful in the six cases presented, and no undesirable reactions were observed throughout the period of treatment. Although the usual treatment for myiasis involves surgical removal of the maggots, pharmacological therapies are emerging as effective alternatives.

Oral myiasis caused by the screwworm Cochliomyia hominivorax treated with subcutaneous ivermectin and creolin: report of six cases after trauma  Dent Traumatol. 2011 Oct;27(5):404-7. doi: 10.1111/j.1600-9657.2011.01004.x. Epub 2011 Apr 28.

And the dead worm removed from RFK Jr. is already polling better than Biden.
