I don't have any axe to grind about vaxines, me. But how did the thread turn into a vax debate, given its nothing to do with the original topic or it's headline, and adds no broader context for its consideration?

The anti-vaxx loons take every opportunity they can find to go prancing round on their hobby horses, and, unfortunately, some of us (me included) can't resist biting. I try to leave them, these days - at least most of the time - in their own echo chamber, howling at the moon and tilting at windmills.

"The death certificate listed the cause of death as coronary artery and hepatic sclerosis."

So nothing to do with heat, despite the misleading title.

He died of clogged arteries at 39 years old, as are many other young people since 2022.

so he died because of Covid? 🙄

I just got a message from a farang friend in the Thai countryside. He told me that people in his village are dropping dead like flies. Obviously it's from the vaccines, as this has never happened before to this extent, and it gets hot every year in Thailand. Let's see if the deaths continue after the hot season ends and the raining season begins. Then I suppose the pro-vaxxers will have another explanation for the high number of deaths - such as excess rain.

Cool story bro.  Long on BS, sort on facts.

I’ve sent a formal complaint to the local governor about this. I keep tripping over the mountain of corpses outside our condo- it’s a public hazard. Some of them still have syringes stuck in their arm.

So let me guess: You were duped into getting "vaccinated" for COVID too, and you think that making jokes about it will protect you from the inevitable detrimental health consequences of your mistake? Unfortunately, reality doesn't work that way.

For goodness sake you people, do give it a rest. 🙁 There is more to living, forums and the meaning of life than banging on about Covid at every turn and blaming it for everything, including car accidents, teen pregnancy, power shortages,  meteorites,  green algae in my swimming pool, high air fares, doors coming off Boeings, the Mrs.'s mood swings, the dogs piles, my piles, the cats grumps.  Come on, move on and stop introducing it into every post, regardless of the subject under discission.

"Long Covid" is the generally accepted expression, usually adorned with adjectives such as "baffling" or "sudden".

Long COVID is real, and has nothing to do with the vaccine.  My COVID case nearly killed me -- this was well before the vaccine was available -- the effects continue to this day.

Long COVID denial  is an important element of the vaccine injury case - that many of it's symptoms are the same as those being attributed to vaccine injures, that it exists at all, and that it was acknowledged before the vaccines became available blows a big hole in the anti-vaxx argument.

I know people who caught Covid before the vaccine came out. Well, to be specific, they suffered a serious respiratory ailment in 2020 or 2021. Young, healthy people had nothing to fear from it, but some segments of the population certainly did, as with influenza and other affections. I hope you will get better.

Only for people who think in a dichotomic manner. Two concepts, trends or processes can coexist sumultaneously: the fact that Long Covid was mentioned before the vaccine rollout does not invalidate the observation that it's symptoms were clarified, more "research" was published on it and its diagnoses increased considerably after the vaccine rollout.

I was also duped into getting a hair cut. Going back a few years a mate of died of a stroke the week after getting a hair cut. Suffice to say no more haircuts for me.

Relax man, there is nothing irrelevant about questioning why heart attacks have been on the rise among young people these past couple of years. Just do what most people do and ignore it if it makes you uncomfortable.

From the British Heart Foundation, June 2023:

Dr Charmaine Griffiths, our Chief Executive, said: “It is deeply troubling that so many more people with cardiovascular disease have lost their lives over the last three years. My heart goes out to every family who has endured the pain of losing a loved one, all too often in distressing circumstances.

“For years now, it has been clear that we are firmly in the grip of a heart and stroke care emergency. If little changes, we could continue to see a sustained rise in death rates from cardiovascular conditions that undoes decades of scientific progress to reduce the number of people who die of a heart attack or stroke.

Typical response I would expect from you and your deluded forum mates.  Actually, I'm in error here, as I never read anything that  you post.  past the first sentence.

Heart attacks are becoming more common in younger people, especially women

But research, presented at the 2019 conference of the American College of Cardiology, spotlights an alarming trend: a rising incidence of heart attacks in younger adults. The study was the first to compare “young” heart attack survivors (41 to 50 years old) to “very young” survivors (age 40 or younger). The proportion of under-40 adults having a heart attack rose by 2 percent a year for the last 10 years.

I wouldn’t rule out haircuts being the culprit here. People have been getting haircuts well prior to 2018.

It's more baffling than that, Ted.

Bloomberg, February 2024:

A Spike in Heart Disease Deaths Since Covid Is Puzzling Scientists

Mortality data of the past four years show a wave of deadly cardiovascular and metabolic illness.

'Spike in strokes, cardiac arrest among young since Covid', says study

“In our October 2022 study, 51% of people had indicated having one or more close contacts with the onset of a severe medical condition since Covid. But in the last 12 months, this has risen to 72% of respondents having one or more close contact with the onset of severe medical conditions,” said Sachin Taparia, Founder of LocalCircles.

“With the number of cases of stroke reported in young people in the last 12 months, the need of the hour is for the Union Health Ministry to investigate this thoroughly and find the root cause, as most people are unwilling to accept reports that conclude sedentary lifestyle as the general cause for stroke-related deaths in young,” Taparia told this paper.

Young people are more likely to die of heart attacks post-COVID, study finds. But why?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, heart attack deaths across all age groups have become more common in the U.S., according to a September 2022 study by Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.

The age group hit the hardest? People between 25 and 44, who saw a 29.9% relative increase in heart attack deaths over the first two years of the pandemic (which means the actual number of heart attack deaths were almost 30% higher than the predicted number).

“Young people are obviously not really supposed to die of heart attack. They’re not really supposed to have heart attacks at all,” Dr. Susan Cheng, a cardiologist at Cedars Sinai and co-author of the study, told TODAY in a segment aired Feb. 9.
