News Forum - Krabi’s cool facade cracks: Paradise threatened by water crisis
Even underground water is a finite resource, take too much out and the water table balance is f*cked causing major ecological issues. What would be better would be a hefty tax on those big establishments which would have the effect of reducing or at least not expanding the number of tourists which is the cause of the problem. The tax raised should be spent on water storage infrastructure for the long term. -

News Forum - British man lost in Thailand, family issues SOS appeal
Probably been told not to contact his family by his new 'love of his life' at least not until she has managed to completely empty his bank account. I knew a guy back in the UK some years back, met a lady from Isaan, went through a 'village ceremony' (meaningless legally) retired, took his pension pot as a lump sum and moved out to Thailand to set up home with her. 3 months later he was back in the UK without a pot to piss in looking for a job...........................He too went all secretive and told his family nothing in the months before moving out there and whilst out there. -

Tell those big establishments like 5 star hotels to drill their own well for underground water for domestic use. Treated water for business establishmnets had to be charged more than household water charges. That way wastage can be minised.
