You can get about the same result, with just using the Dry mode.

Depending on model and brand, you can even regulate this with setting it to a specific temp.

But anyway, in dry it is cooling, too, and not that much, like in cool.

On the other hand, what would be a better power saver, keep the walls on the sunny side in shade and insulate the roof.

Comports with my observations this month.  We normally don't use a/c during the day, only at night in the master bedroom, wife sets it to 24c with a fan on to move air around as well.

About 75% of the last electric bill period was during this elevated hot weather period and we've been using a/c in the house almost all day, set between 28-30c with fans on.   This is the first time I've tried using the higher temp settings and I've got to say, when it's 40c+ outside, having the a/c set to 30c with a fan on makes the room very comfortable.

Normal electric bill is 2,700-3,500.  Was bracing for a big bill this time, thought at least 4,000 Baht at the low end and very easily a lot more than that.

Got the bill on the 18th.  3,100 Baht!   Couldn't believe it.
