Are electric scooters allowed on the road. I remember that such electric scooters are banned in Phuket sometimes back. Futher this is 3 wheel ment for elderly and handicapped which has its limitations when operate. Do such vehicles have proper breaking and safety features to operate on busy roads?

I used to live in Pattaya and this road is one of the most dangerous ones. I don't mean to victim-blame, but impaired people should not use it.

They should stick to short, local trips with little traffic.

People need to have their heads on a swivel when riding in Thailand.  Also, the rider in the photo is not wearing a helmet.

Have you seen the pic? It was probably what he was doing just going down soi Kao talo, simply should have been careful at this intersection, even when the right lane stops you do not to go for it blindly.

Clearly shows the old guy on a mobility scooter. Presumably, there aren’t any restrictions on their use here. The bloke in the car was operating on the first unwritten road rule in Thailand- might beats rights, and T boned the witless individual accordingly. Shit like this will continue to happen when there is an absence of definitive road laws on giving way at an intersection and inadequate signage at the intersections, as was the here.
