I stayed on Karon Beach about almost 20 years ago and remember seeing that black stream of "sediment".

It wasn't the rainy season, and the tide was abnormally high.  I smell something here with these comments that it's safe and the water quality is fine, and it smells like what it looks like.

But from where did these sediments came from in the first place before being sedimented in the pond? For sure cannot be from the sky via rain water.

Thaiger, look into your archive, that is nothing new, you wrote about it,  before. Perhaps still under PG, but can you check, what the former major had to say, about what it was at that time?

Also sediment, but not flushed out from high tide, but from high rainfalls after long period of  being dry, in the klongs or such.

I am still wondering, what kind of chemicals they put in the water, there. They storing big numbers of 25 liter canisters there.

Road dirt, oil, rubber, cooking oil from kitchen drains, whatever people flush away.

It is in the klong in  Kata the same. There you can see (and sometimes smell) he sediment,  black, between Club Med and OZO Hotel.

Which is build on the former land of Club Med, where CM had to build a waste water system, but never really used it.

Btw., is Hilton using there waste water facility, now?

On the bottom of my septic tank there is also sediment! (better known as sh*t.) This clown in Karon is also a biologist that knew the cause of the black sediment in 30 minutes!
