Perhaps they can promote the upcoming  burning  season when locals set fire to the land. Come see the   magical smoke and choke for free.

Chiang mai is being decimated. The smoke is coming. The roadworks cover everything in dust and the diesel fumes from the heavy machinery outside pubs and restaurants is choking everyone. The roadworks are now into nearly into six months and little sign of ending.

You should write copy for the TAT...the Chinese would just flock to Chiang Mai.
