Did they mismanage the fund for personal gain or channel it to some other students who really need some food to get rid of their hunger? Looks like only partial students get the benefits and the rest none. And these officers have tried their best to make sure that everyone gets a meal irrespective of their status of eligibility. In response, the Deputy Minister of Education plans to propose to the Cabinet the allocation of a lunch budget for secondary students in extended opportunity schools, to ensure all students are fed. However, the timeline for this depends on Cabinet consideration.

Sounds like his heart was in the right place, just his method wasn’t by the book. Clearly what he did wasn’t for personal gain. Hardly something he should be fired over. A slap on the wrist would have been more appropriate.

It seems in trying to do the right thing he has fallen foul of the rules. A shame that he is losing his job over it.

I would like to know the full details of the reallocation of funds and how they ended up where they did.
