We never paid for my stepson to attend International School

We paid for private school for his elementary and middle school(I think 50k/yr) and then my wife really wanted him to go to one of the better public high schools in Thailand, that was free.

Never understood the one off enrollment fee. It’s grossly unfair because the parents might only have a relatively short term contract to work in Thailand which means the child’s stay at the school might be limited to only two to three years. And what exactly is the justification for it? The article suggests it’s refundable but it certainly isn’t. It’s also not charged by independent schools in the UK.
