Anyone ever move a structure(guesthouse) in Thailand?

We are thinking of buying land but wouldn't be building a proper house for 6-7 years.............

But was thinking could build a 1bdrm guesthouse to have a place to stay on visits and then move it on the property once we build the proper house.

Is that doable?

We would build it with the idea we may move it

Thanks

There are Companies, who selling such houses

They are even in  small available, I room plus bath.

I don't like those pre-made teak houses and it wouldn't go with the house to come

My BIL is sort of a contractor, he's built massive carports for Toyota and other companies

And we would be looking for basically a square white structure

So he would likely build it for us

And we may end up figuring out to put it where it will stay on the property

But want the option to move it later

Thanks

Imho, he way then would be to plan and find the spot first.

Or to build a really cheap structure and demolish it later.

If you not wanna become the "it is a cheap Charlie" Farang in the beginning of your life in the new community.

If you need just a small one room with a shower and a kitchen outdoors, that is a couple of 100k in Thb.

Get modern windows, you can even use em again for the later guesthouse building. Same with the steal roof construction

But forget about base and walls. That is mostly cheap work, only.

Plus 4 to 6 poles deeper in the ground.

As above, build a small one room with ensuite and kitchenette which can later be used as maid or guest house.

Building a demountable structure may be difficult finding the trades outside of a major city.  Local pommie guy here in CNX has done so on his future house land.  He built a nice rectangular office of roughly 10m x 4m complete with ensuite.  Whole thing is framed out of lightweight steel on H-beam base which may be craned onto a transporter later.

Container homes are another option.

@McTavish @Guest1 Thanks for your replies and the land will be big enough that I should be able to figure out where to put it to stay, I realized.........

I'd like to build it to stay and will have a budget of 300-500k

Doesn't have to be hugely fancy but nice enough that I'd be happy staying there and guests would be too

Similar to this

White box with a smallish deck, likely on the back of the structure

Similar to any of these 3 structures

Something simple and similar to this would do, maybe a bit more modern looking

Bedroom, bathroom, small living room so we can fit a sofa bed
