A barbaric activity, that should be banned, if it isn't already.

Of course, it's a 'sport' for some good old hypocrite Buddhists here and there are plenty of those around.

Well it is a lot better when no leg razors are used, but this is how some Muay Thai moves came about as well.. They also fight the beautiful Siamese Rhinocerous beetle up in CM. They get them so juiced up on sugar cane and then let them go to it. Both are nothing but a gambling sports. For the beetles there is one time a year in CM you will naturally see them maybe in your yard or around. Lovely creatures. In the mornings I actually go out to the street at my house and save them from being run over.

And don't forget the domesticated gourami species, Betta splendens, has long been used for this purpose. Though probably only after the innovation of glass bowls, could the ornamental gouramis be used for spectator sports. (Another gourami, the paradise fish, has also been used or abused in this way.)@

How could I forget that! I have spent so many sleepness nights worrying about the torn away tails of these fish from having to do mortal combat.

Backward, pathetic & stupid activity conducted by low IQ peasant idiots here. Welcome to an unchanging primitive people & culture. But it’s their country, doesn’t impact me and not why I’m here.  There are reasons these childish practices died out in Europe 500 years ago. Enlightenment, Reason and Maturity. No danger of those strangers arriving here……there are no “ Buddhists” here. Face Money Power the true Religion here……

Betta Splendens, common name - Siamese Fighting Fish. The males are so aggressive (to their own species) that they will even attack their own reflections.

Si, they are bred not only for beautiful finnage, but for temperament. When maintained for ornamental purposes, it is best to keep only one male to a tank, for this reason.
