'According to The Sun Malaysia, nearly 100,000 Malaysian tourists flocked to southern Thailand during the holiday, pumping over 1 billion baht (US$30,068) into the local economy' Oh wow, that equates to about US$0.30 per person. Big spenders huh? Maybe the got their decimal points wrong. A billion baht is about 30 million US$ not 30 thousand. Which equates to US$300 each person. That's some spending by Malaysians. -

I don't understand why only short-term visitors can manage their overseas business. Why can't long-term folks like retirees and spousal visa holders do it too? I would think that as long as we're bringing a regular stream of money into the country legally, the government should be happy. -
