In two weeks neither Pita nor MFP will be part of the political fabric because they will go the way of Future Forward. A military backed puppet government will take control and Pheu Thai will not oppose them as it positions itself for selective support of the minority cabal. And so once again Thailand will be gripped by crisis, economic stagnation and civil disobedience resulting in imprisonment of many and the disappearance of a few as the military and their goons operate in the shadows. Without doubt civil disobedience will occur but will rapidly fade in the face of withering state violence. Ordinary Thai people have no stomach for a mass conflict capable of eliminating the forces of power.

Looks like it might be a farwell good bye for Pita towards his dream of becoming the PM and changing things in Thailand. He should have remained low profile and accept to all their demands until he secure the seat. Once on the seat, then he can do what he likes. As in politics there is no friend or for and no such think of keeping or breaching promises. Pita has still a lot to learn in the arena of politics.

The tactic is worth a shot, given the high number of senate voters that abstained. Maybe the abstaining senators secretly support Pita and are willing, in secret ballot, to get behind his bid.

The MFP are in the process of writing the longest suicide note in history.  Clever politicians would keep some of their more contentious intentions and ambitions under wraps until they actually form a government, not shoot themselves in both feet well before that happens.  The more they do this, the less likely it is  that they will ever form a government, let alone a stable one.

Sadly think that unless there is serious reaction to the negative (paid for and owned) senators and their actions against the popular vote then Thailand is going backwards again.

I’m assuming it’s a secret ballot. Can anyone confirm?
