Libel is libel so hopefully someone gets sued and lessons are learned but I doubt it.

Yet again, what has the subject of transgender, got to do with the story? If the masseuse had been either gay or lesbian instead, it wouldn't have been mentioned without a justification.

Not a moral or political point, it's just a stupid spin on the story, Thai people would not make. And stories such as this, are not why farangs take an interest in transgender...

It's clickbait, and Thai media is full of plenty of LB interest stories.

But people don't click to read about transgender, unless it's titillating. Given the nation involved, and the cross-cultural context Involved, the word ladyboy (as a gloss of kathooey) would be more suitable as click bait. 

The word transgender, makes people avoid a story like the plague. It makes people think of screeching queers crying about nothing. People have been sick of their whining, since Gamergate or thereabouts.

So there's no point in using the word transgender in click bait, unless it's about anti-normal hate speech, no platforming, or the like.

The choice of wording is an inappropriate gloss for kathoey. It is, however, something screeching queers and liberals, have insisted be forced through as the standard terminology. Even when it's very insensitive cultural appropriation.
