From the article:

Somchai remained silent during the mockery, only expressing his disgruntlement when Tadphon made fun of his choice of ‘green’ cigarettes, a cooler variant, implying that Somchai was not courageous.

I read the headline and thought ah, he was probably smoking Alpine menthols. Geez, I wasn’t far off 😂

Yep, hence the ribbing. The stabbing in response is a bit much though 🤔

They do seem to be be seen as such, although when I was a smoker I actually found them harder on my throat. Maybe the offence was that he thought that his "manliness" had been questioned?

Schoolyard mentality, why are these people so immature!

This is something that can be laid squarely on cigarettes. If they weren't available, this tragedy would not have occurred and I look at this the same way liberal Yanks blame the availability of guns on lunatics shooting people.

And if you believe that, I have a bridge you might want to buy.

Smoked a few menthols while hauling across the Nullabore plains, driving a semi.

Sure helped soothe the throat at the time. Had a wake-up to myself at 34 years and threw the lot out.

Still here 70+ so maybe it did some good.  (The throwing the lot out bit I mean.)
