News Forum - Pattaya panic: Chinese tourists ditch Thailand for Japan
The first time I smelled Hash/grass/weed/dope was in my teens,the end of the 60s.I has my first toke in my early 20s.I moved to Amsterdam at 27,I then found that dope and alcohol was not a good mix for me,so I chose alcohol.People around me have smoked dope for over 50 years and as long as they are not blowing in my face it's live and let live.I just can't quite understand why so many people have a problem with the smell of dope smoking in Pattaya,I read on the forums and general talk on the internet that it's a major turn off! I wonder what sort of life they have led. After all Pattaya is the most liberal city outside of Amsterdam and Vegas on the planet,where anything goes.For me it's cigarettes,I don't go into places that allow cigarette smoking,I see ashtrays on tables I turn round and leave.As a former 50 a day man,I believe if people want to smoke it's their right.Though not in a space where people work. -

You mean, they were pissed I corrected them when they were wrong. Yeah, well, some only like to hear, what they want to hear. Almost 25 years experience in the game. Agreed Bob. I can't for the life of me work out what you had as you're confusing yourself. There are Non Immigrant type visas and Tourist type visas, but not a non Immigrant tourist visa. Thailand didn't even introduce the METV, nor was it available anywhere until Nov 2015, before the e-visa system was introduced (2019). It's very possible you had the Non Imm O ME visa, though, which is no longer available using the e-visa system. They were valid for 12 months. -

Despite these Phuket street protests, a coup is unlikely IMO, not because of insufficient justification rendered by external factors – these anti-Shin protests and the like - but because of an inherent fear factor, fear of criticism, both for their heavy reliance on force of arms but also of their likely incompetence at putting an effective government together … they know that they’re likely to invite worldwide criticism on that front and may well decide to remain settled (and comfortable) in their clubhouse, whilst PM Paetongtarn & Co continue to stage their political circus. -

Non-Immigrant 0 Visa – right way to list accommodation in Thailand?
I was told before by several posters how you are never ever incorrect about anything, and that are the self-appointed expert on all things Visa related - and that is why they all avoid debating anything with you mate. See my responses above in bold. PS - I have a life and was busy yesterday - golf, shopping etc. Lets agree to disagree. You clearly got it wrong, because all Visas to Thailand were not always all the same - except under the E-Visa system when used in any country - which started being used in Australia in 2024. But I cannot prove I got a multiple entry non-immigrant tourist visa for 12 months way back in time - unfortunately. I recall back then that the person in the Embassy talked me into using it because it allowed a person who was travelling to multiple countries in any one year to be able to enter that country multiple times. Damn I wish I had that Passport - but actually it would be the one before the last one - given they are for 10 years only.
