With covid restrictions these shells have a good life to grow bigger and healthy pervious years. Now all that is gone....hence the harvest has to wait for it to grow bigger. Better do aquaculture to increase the production.

Time maybe these 'residents' realised that they have been over fishing and unless they allow the stocks to replenish naturally and/or start farming them ecologically there will soon be NONE left at all and once they are gone they could be gone for good.

While many of us know without speculation that the mussels have been overharvested and not allowed to mature.
