All very well and good, but there's a reason places  become popular in the first place, whether it's interesting attractions, natural beauty, good views etc. 

There are always going to be some less traveled places that have these things, and I've got some favourites myself which I won't mention here. 

But it all depends on where TAT want to push. There must be something there to make people want to visit in the first place, and how easy are the places to get to, are there decent hotels, food options, English speakers etc. 

Too often TAT just seems to rely on the idea that anywhere in Thailand must be great because it's in Thailand, when quite often, a lot of places are average at best.
