Bang Saen appearing in the news a lot lately, none of it good…

I quite liked it when I first went there in the early 2000s. Much better on weekdays, absolutely overrun on the weekends. 

The Tides Resort on the main drag used to be one of the best value for money four stars in Thailand IMO back in the day. Had a long stay there in 2005.

I haven’t been to Bang Saen since 2015. The wife refuses to go back, it’s the only locale in Thailand she detests

My favorite all time bar in Thailand was in Bang Saen, the “Take it Easy Bar”, on Bang Saen Sai 4, just off the main street heading in to the beach from Sukhumvit. 

Giant place, rustic, all made of wood, big screen for the football. Eagles cover band every night. They swapped roles every song, absolute musical geniuses. Forget the Hell Freezes Over Tour DVD, this was it. A staple of every visit. Went back in 2015, the bar was gone and a two-storey pharmacy was in its place. Most of the other venues gone too.

And lately all these dodgy stories. Yep, Bang Saen ain’t what it used to be.

I've found that if you screw your face up like Cosmo Smallpiece it does improve the video. HTH
